Divine Democracy
Expo Gelle Fra, Luxembourg
2010

This piece is a deconstruction of luxemburgish history through its national World War resistance symbol Gelle Fra (Golden Lady), a golden sculpture representing a women holding out a laurel wreath. The monument was transported from Luxemburg to be shown in Shanghai during Expo 2010 in front of the luxemburgish pavilion. Divine Democracy is questioning the definition of democracy, developing the idea that capital has a central political (nearly religious) meaning and that world economy overtakes the human rights. The installation is confronting western biblical symbols with the chinese political history
